Merry Riana (Mimpi Sejuta Dollar) | Review Text

       Merry Riana is a successful young woman entrepreneur, writer, and motivator. Her life’s story is told in a movie, Merry Riana “Million Dollar Dream”, which is adapted from her book with the same title. This film visualizes her struggle to survive from difficulty of life and become successful.

       The violence that happened in Jakarta and other big cities in Indonesia in May 1998 makes Merry Riana forced to flee to Singapore. Merry Riana’s father decided to send his daughter to Singapore because he was afraid of the unsafe condition. She went alone to Singapore with the support money that was only enough to buy food for five days. Fortunately, Merry Riana met with her best friend, Irene, who wanted to go to university in the there, too. With Irene’s help, Merry could live in a boarding house. She was also accepted in one of the best college there. But, it could only be reached if Merry paid $40,000. The only hope was to take  a loan college student that could only be obtained if Merry had a guarantor. Then, Merry met her senior, Alva, who was very reckoning. He gave many requirements before he finally agreed to help Merry. He also had Merry look for side job. Merry realized that she should be successful as soon as possible. She did various work, from spreading online business brochure, until playing withe high risky shares. The condition of her economy was moving up and down. Problem of love also occurred when Alva expressed his feeling to Merry. Meanwhile, Merry knew it well that Irene fell in love with Alva.

       The acting of Chelsea Islan (Merry Riana) in thit movie is very good. She can impersonate Merry Riana’s character very well. But, it would be better if there was no kissing scene.

       I think this is an inspirational movie which can motivate people to be successful at young age. It brings good spirit for young men in Indonesia. The script writer is successful to bring a set of interesting conflicts which make the plot of this movie become alive.

On November 10, 1989, hundreds people were killed by crash of Aircraft. The incident happened in Paradise Island which was reported by David Harts.

Background events:

Crash of Aircraft incident happened quickly. It is reported that there are only five passengers safe. Two of four stewardesses were died. Police and fire brigades were there too, trying to help as much as they can. They were still trying to identify the names of the victims, so they could send the notification to their family. However, it is also reported that the pilot and co-pilot of Aircraft was safe.

This Aircraft incident was still being observed about the reasons how this could happen. The passengers hope that it will never ever happen again. The safe passengers were evacuated in a safe place to be treated medically and also interviewed by some reporters.

A sandstorm is strong dry wind blowing over the desert that raises and carries along clouds of sand or dust. They often appear as solid walls of dust as much as 5,000 feet high.  The strong winds are caused by intense heating from the ground and makes it strong enough to move full sand dunes. Air is unbalanced when heated and this causes mixture with higher winds in the troposphere and lower winds in the atmosphere which creates the tough surface winds.
            Sandstorms are most likely to occur in the Sahara Desert or anywhere where rain is unlikely to come. Sandstorms can happen anywhere where the earth is dry. They usually happen on hot summer days under certain atmospheric conditions.
            Sandstorms can dry up water, people, plants and anything really that contains water. It can also cause blindness. Thousands of tonnes of sand and dust can be picked up in a sandstorm or dust storm.
            If sandstorms happen in a town, it causes health problems, particularly those with lung problems or asthma-related conditions. They also clog up water pipes or air filters. Sometimes it's dumped over the sea and the effect of it is devastating when flood waters dump tonnes of mud into the sea, clogging the gills of sea creatures,  which means wherever the sand or dust is put, it will cause suffocation to animals, plants and even humans. sandstorms are not limited to Earth and have been known to form on other planets such as Mars. These sandstorms are much larger and more powerful than sandstorms on Earth with wind speeds reaching 100 miles per hour (160 km/h). Martian sandstorms are formed when solar heating warms the Martian atmosphere and causes the air to move, lifting dust off the ground. Title                 : The Problem of Being Too Fat

Thesis              : Being too fat is commonly known as overweight or obesity. It is simply defined as too much body fat inside. Overweight potentially leads high risk of health problem.

Arguments      : 1) Being too fat is recognized as a major factor for heart disease. Due to the overweight, the heart will work harder. It can lead to the heart attack.

2)Furthermore, obesity potentially rises blood cholesterol and blood pressure.

3) In addition, being too fat can change the amount of sugar in the blood. This will cause diabetes and other serous disease.

4) Beside all of that, being too fat is often avoided by many young women. They said that becoming too fat will bother their physical beauty appearance.

Reiteration      :More serious studies are necessary to see the effect of obesity. However it is clear enough that overweight is not good enough for healthy life.

Bandung my hometown | Descriptive text about places

Bandung is one of the great city in Indonesia. It is the capital city of West Java province which is located in the western part of Java Island. “Flower City”, that is how they call Bandung because of its beauty and attractiveness of the city. Beside that people and tourist frequently called it as “Paris Van Java”. Bandung lies about 180km from its capital city of Indonesia, Jakarta.

The natural characteristic of Bandung is a cool city, by its average temperature around 23 Celsius which is considered as fresh in by most of Indonesian people. Its air is basically so friendly and fresh which makes me want to spend the whole holiday right here is to refresh my mind after all of the stressing routine activities.

The weather here makes Bandung as one of domestic tourist destinations in Indonesia. Besides of its cool weather, Bandung also pleases all the tourists here by its culinary and shopping service. You can find shopping heaven here in Dago and Cihampelas. Here, we can find a lot of factory outlets which provides you many fashion products with cheap price. While right on the upper part, Dago has a lot of fancy café. These cafes serve all the tourists with tasty food, both modern and traditional food in Bandung.

My coffee mug | Descriptive text about thing

       I have a nicely handmade coffee mug. I got it from my ex-girlfriend two years ago, since she gave me this mug I always use it everyday and every night to enjoy a delicious coffee.

       It is a round shaped mug with one big handle on it. My mug has a dark blue color which is my favorite color. The inner part of the mug is black colored, so when you look what is inside you will never know what is inside.
